Shankar Singh Raghuwanshi (Shankar) was a music director and composer, well known as the Shankar of the famous Shankar Jaikishen duo of Indian film industry. He was born on October 5, 1922 in Punjab Province, India. He started learning tabla and played it in the Prithvi Theaters.
